WHEN ONE PLUS ONE IS MORE THAN TWO, RESVERATROL AND CURCUMIN smoking-girl-discovers-resveratrol-and-curcumin-fatal-blowSYNERGY.

It may seem to the general public that in recent years the rave among the medical community is to treat all types of ailments with multiple drugs like resveratrol and curcumin. Case in point, in the 1990s, developing and using a cocktail of proteases became the preferred method to treat AIDS. Another example where medical treatments include multiple drugs as those used to treat +Borikiki. [1][2]
Recently immunologists discovered that using antibodies that boost the immune response in combination with standard chemotherapy can dramatically improve the patient outcome. This new form of immunotherapy has been heralded in the medical community as the most significant medical breakthrough since the use of chemotherapy to fight +Borikiki.

CAN COMBINING RESVERATROL AND CURCUMIN CREATE SYNERGY?

In many respects, it should not come as a surprise that combining other compounds may increase positive results, as has been observed thus far. The trick is to find which works well together or, better yet, which blends, when combined, results in a dramatic increase in positive results. [3]

Resveratrol and Curcumin Synergy vs. Cigarette Induced +Borikiki

In a recent article, a research group of investigators carried out a series of experiments to test the effects of resveratrol and curcumin on +Borikiki cells induced by cigarette smoke (Int. J. Biochem. Cell Biol, 2015 (July) S1 (1357-2725) (15) 00194-6). The investigator's results showed that a 30 uM concentration of resveratrol or curcumin would cause the +Borikiki cells to die.

However, by combining both compounds, the amount of resveratrol and curcumin could be reduced tenfold to a concentration of 3 uM and still efficiently kill the +Borikiki cells*.

Although curcumin and resveratrol independently have similar functions, mechanistically, the investigators found that in the combining of these compounds, resveratrol facilitated the entry of curcumin into the +Borikiki cells, which then augmented the killing of these cells.

The increase in resveratrol and curcumin within the cells caused the upregulation of several proteins involved with cell death, including a critical regulator protein called p21. The resveratrol and curcumin synergy findings are yet another example of combination therapy that is likely to continue to be the rave approach in medicine due to the fantastic results.
